The Heart of Ona's Writes & Songs

Hello friends and strangers.

The stories of what led me to the decision to take writing seriously and offer it as a service, especially for the LGBT+ and Secular Humanism communities, is too lengthy and complex to share in this post. And the multiple characters, so to speak, that played their part in my life's story so far also have their own complexities and attributes that are not necessary to discuss in this context either.

What I will share here is that I have a lengthy background and connection in the concepts and lived-experiences of Christianity, Divine Purpose, and Vertical Morality. Those beliefs and values went deep, for a time. They also took me outside reality-based empathy for people that did not fit within the moral constructs as defined by my indoctrination.

During the Summer of 2020, when I realized I was transgender, I was 50 years old. This is why I refer to myself as a late-life-realized transgender female. Ever since then I have seen humanity and the world in an entirely new way. This shift in perception was a further transition out of delusional beliefs and into reality-based understanding of the beautiful diversity of humanity. That point of time was also when social and political events sparked what became the exponential obliteration of my previously misguided thinking.

Fast forwarding to the new chorus in my life's proverbial song, I have become an outspoken agnostic secular humanist. I speak out against any type of movement to implement or integrate religious Divine Purpose and Vertical Mortality into my country's legislation. That country is currently the one I was born and raised in, The United States of America. The Horizontal Morality stance I now firmly take is intertwined with the voice I contribute to the LGBT+ community and especially the Transgender community. 

Today, I now see "rights" and "wrongs" in a new light. Many thoughts and actions I once thought were good because it pleased my supreme being up on high, are now unveiled as bigotry, ignorance, and harmful to humanity. It is my factual-based conviction that Divine Purpose and Vertical Mortality are delusional and absolutely dangerous. It may be another thousand years before humanity evolves into a unified desire to put focus and effort on Horizontal Morality that prioritizes humankind and our planet first and foremost. That's if humanity survives its own destructive behaviors. 

Meanwhile, as a music artist, songwriter, music producer, sound designer, transgender female, vegan, and now secular humanist and writer, I am stepping up and stepping out to help. This is about providing my "writes and songs" to the communities that are currently both marginalized as well as doing the most good for humankind and our planet.
